1. Who we are

This Privacy Notice is issued by Mr van As ("we", "us", "our"), the operator of the Mr van As Math Suite (the "Service"). We act as the data controller for the personal data described below. You can contact us at support@mrvanas.com.

2. Personal data we collect

Account data: name, email address, hashed password, display name.
Subscription data: plan, status, renewal dates, customer identifiers issued by Paddle.
Support data: messages, attachments and correspondence you send us.
Usage and device data: log data, IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps, referrer, and basic device identifiers.
Cookies and similar technologies: strictly necessary cookies for authentication and session management.

Payment card details are collected directly by Paddle and are not stored on our systems.

3. Purposes and legal bases

To create and operate your account — performance of contract.
To provide the apps you have subscribed to — performance of contract.
To process payments and manage subscriptions through Paddle — performance of contract and legal obligation.
To provide customer support — performance of contract and legitimate interests.
To prevent fraud, abuse and secure the Service — legitimate interests and legal obligation.
To improve and maintain the Service — legitimate interests.
To comply with tax, accounting and other legal obligations — legal obligation.

4. How we share your data

We share personal data only with the following categories of recipients:

Paddle.com Market Limited — our Merchant of Record, which handles checkout, billing, tax compliance, invoicing, refunds and subscription management.
Hosting and infrastructure providers — including our cloud hosting and database providers used to run the Service.
Email and communication providers — used to send transactional and account emails.
Professional advisers — such as accountants and legal counsel where strictly necessary.
Authorities — where required by law, court order or to protect our rights.

We do not sell your personal data.

5. International transfers

Some of our service providers may process personal data outside your country of residence. Where this happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms.

6. Data retention

We retain account and subscription data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to comply with legal, tax and accounting obligations (typically up to 7 years for invoicing records). Support correspondence is retained for up to 3 years. Log and usage data is retained for up to 12 months. When data is no longer needed, it is deleted or anonymised.

7. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you;
Request correction of inaccurate data;
Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten");
Restrict or object to certain processing;
Request portability of data you provided to us;
Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

8. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including encryption in transit (TLS), encrypted storage, access controls, hashed passwords and regular review of our security practices. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to operate the Service securely. We do not use advertising cookies. Where analytics cookies are used, they are limited to aggregate, privacy-friendly measurement.

10. Changes to this notice

We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the Service or by email. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent version.
